Do It Yourself
Recently my paid for car had a faulty fuel pump relay. It would cause the car to not start at the most in opportune times. I checked with the dealer and they stated the part was $70+ dollars and labor would be around $150, that is $220 bucks that I really didn’t want to fork out. Yes, I am debt free, I have the money to pay for the repair, but, I didn’t become debt free by spending money just because I have it. This was a repair that required a relay to be unplugged and a new one plugged back in. I checked online and found I could actually repair the part myself by re-soldering, but I did decide to purchase a replacement part which I found on Ebay, new for only $40. I replace the relay, saved around $180 and now have the old part I can repair just in case the new part fails. I can name so many other ways in which I saved money around the house by DIY projects… Anyone else saved money with a do it yourself project? |
